Yeah Yeah Yeah's unveil title of third album

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have revealed the title of their third album, the follow-up to 2006's 'Show Your Bones', on their website. The album, due for release in the Spring, will be called 'It's Blitz'. Click on the band's blog to learn more..

White Lies on the NME Awards Tour 2009
White Lies have been confirmed to play 2009’s NME Awards Tour, which will be headlined by Glasvegas. The tour kicks off at Liverpool University on January 29th and runs throughout February. Click here for a full list of dates and venues.

Caribou wins 2008 Polaris Music Prize
Massive congratulations to Caribou who has won the 2008 Polaris Music prize in Canada for his most recent album Andorra. The Polaris Music Prize is the Canadian equivalent to our Mercury’s and you can watch his gracious speech and a live performance when you click here.

Congratulations to Gnarls.
Gnarls Barkley won both awards for the categories they were nominated in at this years MTV VMA’s. ‘Run’ won awards for Best Choreography and Best Art Direction. They will sit nicely alongside the three they already have for Crazy back in 2006 and Smiley Faces from 2007.

Gnarls Barkley nominated for two MTV VMA’s
Gnarls Barkley have received two MTV VMA award nominations for the video ‘Run’. The video was directed by Happy and is up for best Art Direction and best choreography. The video was initially slammed as it was suggested it put some viewers at risk from seizures.

Leonard Cohen announces new tour dates
After an incredible response towards his recent appearances at Glastonbury and The Big Chill festivals, Leonard Cohen is about to embark on a huge European tour. Whilst in the UK he will be playing in Glasgow, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Brighton, Manchester and in London at the O2. Click here for a full list of tour dates.

Mercury Music Prize Nominations.
Here at Chrysalis we are very proud to announce that two of our writers have received a nomination each. Firstly Estelle for her album ‘Shine’ and secondly Laura Marling for her album ‘Alas, I Can Not Swim. We have our fingers crossed for both of them and you can find out the result when it is decided on the night of the award show in September.

Pendulum Festival Dates

Reading and Leeds 2008 Line-Up Announced
Last week saw the announcement of the Carling Weekends full line up. Catch The Raconteurs play the main stage on the Saturday, whilst Feeder play the main stage on Sunday, along with Pendulum and The Cribs who play on the NME stage also on the Sunday.

Leaked Gnarls already picking up great reviews
It could have been a disaster when earlier this week Gnarls Barkley’s first new single ‘Run’ was leaked over the internet. Yet it can’t be all bad when Rolling Stone have already given it 4 stars and stated that with its “horn stabs, organ washes, bongo rolls, bonkers break beats and deranged backing vocals, Run is insanely great”!

End of year acclaim for The Cribs
The Cribs have received huge end of year acclaim this week for their release ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’ in various publications. The NME named the album #9 of the year, the single ‘Men’s Needs’ #3 of the year and the video for ‘Men’s Needs’ #2 of the year. The album was UNCUT’S #38 of the year, whilst The London Paper placed ‘Men’s Needs’ at #1 for single of the year. Click here to view the bands current tour details.
